Typos are a part of life (looking at you, all three of my books), but that doesn't mean they're harmless. - Spelling mistake on your sign? I can't concentrate and I don't trust you anymore. - Spelling mistake on your menu? I'm not eating this food, God knows what's in it. - SPELLING MISTAKES IN AN EMAIL FROM A TEACHER? I cannot. I am dead. I died. Context matters. An unintelligible text from a friend or a kid? Who gives a shit. But a spelling error on a conference banner makes me shudder. A sign where English is clearly a second language? No problem. But a misspelled word on a fertility clinic homepage... stay the fuck away from my ovaries.
