Happy Friday, gang.

I almost didn't write this, because I was thinking about how many damn emails you're getting from me this week, but I get so many delighted responses to these Flurries I figured you can just mute me for a couple of weeks if you're over it, and we'll work it out together next year.

The ruse of unpopularity

On Monday, while I was in the garage looking for the kids' advent calendar, I had the bright idea to start a 24-day series of unpopular opinions. This seemed like a good idea until I realised how long 24 days was, but I'm into it now.

I've scheduled and taken down a few posts already, and it's only week one (retracted post included below the paywall.)

Unpopularity is one thing, but I'm discovering the rules and nuances of the game as I go along. Punching up is funny, but punching down is never OK. Taking the piss is fine, but only for so long, and then it gets preachy and unkind, and you need to throw yourself on the piss pile too.

Here's a brain dump of unpopular opinions directly from my notebook (if you can decipher it!)
