With a new organisational strategy confirmed, Deputy Chief Executive Megan Main knew it was time to bring together the diverse range of leaders from across CGI to make the big picture real and actionable.
CGI needed two critical things:
- To drive meaningful alignment across diverse, internal functions
- To do more than a token ‘strategy away day’ so that new thinking could be embedded.
The first step was to bring more than 60 senior leaders together for a full day to think strategically, identify key priorities and decide how to drive change.
A fun, action-packed day down at the Wellington waterfront sparked challenging conversations, created new connections and delivered clear, focused priorities.
The next was to bring a selection of senior leaders together to plan for implementation and identify the key system changes needed for CGI to become a centre of internal excellence.
The result?
- Three clear strategic priorities
- Measurable, meaningful outcomes
- Engaged, enthusiastic leaders
- A suite of discrete, strategic projects supported by an achievable implementation plan.
