With any luck, and some effort, we get better at being ourselves over time. We mitigate our weaknesses, embrace our strengths, build little habits and systems to buffer us. We change, grow, and adapt.
But we rarely transform.
Your core traits aren't going anywhere. Some will be charming quirks, but others are a real pain in the ass. They're the kind of things you'd consider breaking up with a partner or friend over.
Unfortunately, you can’t break up with yourself - not without dying. So you'll have to live with who you are.
Merry Christmas.
